Through the Cell

The sun shines on the beautiful omnific clouds

They are free

The spotlight is on them, so they vowed

This it what we’ll always be

Free in shape

Free In form

That Freedom he yearned for in his cell

For one day he promised he would escape

Feelings of jealousy were born

Sols spotlight was visible but did not shine where he dwelled

Through the small metal bars he watched everyday

A new cloud never seen before.

One day that would be him under Sols ray

Free to explore

When he promised himself

No more than ten years of age

In a state of hope

No matter the wealth

No matter lifes page

Do not mope

Never forget this promise to self

For your health

Keep this hope

Stay true

To you

Twenty years later

The cell only grew around him

To himself he was a traitor

A broken promise made his fate look grim

As a kid he didn’t notice

Or he was just naive

He wasn’t just in a cell

If only he had focused

No he just couldn’t perceive

The heavy shackles around him where he dwelled

They grew tighter every year

Now they were a part of him

After so long he felt no fear

It eased his mind to watch the clouds and sing a hymn

Sol shines on the beautiful omnific clouds

Like them, he wishes to be free

The spotlight is on them, so he vowed

In another life, that will be me.
